If there is something certain is that, well cared for, your Castañer can accompany you for many years of your life, so we are going to explain how to remove a stain, return them to their original color or simply put them ready for an event. Because quality and care is the perfect match.

What should you do and what should you NOT do?

An important aspect before cleaning any of your pieces is to know what materials they are made of. In this case we are going to deal with the care of our canvas espadrilles: follow our do's and dont's guide to never fail.

Removes dust

One of the key points to make your espadrilles last even longer is to remove dust. A soft bristle brush will be your best ally for this step. Remove excess dust or dirt with it and get one step closer to having your espadrilles as good as new.

Clean the tarpaulin

To shine the canvas of your espadrilles you only have to slightly dampen a cloth or sponge and rub gently. And don't forget the inside, it is also important.

Removes excess moisture

Remove excess moisture with a chamois cloth. This action is key as moisture can change the color of the canvas.

Let it dry

Last but not least, let the espadrille dry in the open air and in a horizontal position. At this point it is very important not to expose it to sunlight, which can alter the color.

Do not use a washing machine or immerse them in water.

Threat of rain? Better not wear your favorite espadrilles. Water or any liquid on them can change the color of the canvas and/or ruin the jute.

Avoid prolonged exposure to light and color sources.

Prolonged exposure to sunlight or the proximity of your espadrilles to heat sources could damage the materials and/or age the material.

Prevent contact with grease, perfumes and cosmetics

The contact of your Castañer with chemical products such as grease, perfumes or cosmetics could damage the appearance of your espadrilles forever.

And now that you know how to take care of your Castañer, it's time to enjoy them for a long time.
